The Executive Director of CRIN, Dr. Patrick Adebola, has been honoured with an award from the World Institute of Peace (WIP). This event took place during WIP panel discussion tagged; World Peace is Possible: Picture the Future of Progress. The event was held on November 8, 2022 at the Lawrence Opeke Conference Hall of the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria, Ibadan. The event featured lectures, panel discussions, induction of fellows and award presentations. In his address, Dr. Adebola stated that hosting such a global peace event was an honour to him and the entire CRIN community. He noted that as an ambassador of peace, his administration has restored peace to the Institute. The special guest at the event, the Executive Chairman of WIP, Chief Lamina Kamiludeen Omotoyosi, thanked the ED CRIN, Dr. Adebola for hosting the event. According to Chief Lamina, WIP is now in over 60 countries across the globe and offers free courses and training virtually. The occasion attracted speakers from the United States of America, Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria. Three fellows were inducted which includes Dr. Funmilayo Akinfenwa, a retired Commissioner of Police; Chief (Mrs) Dolapo Dosunmu, Former State Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Oyo State; and the General Secretary, Senior Staff Association of Universities, Teaching Hospitals, Research Institutes and Allied Institutions (SSAUTHRIAI), Rev. (Dr.) Ezekiel Popoola.

The ED CRIN, Dr. Adebola was presented with merit award. Others were Director General Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN) Prof. Adeshola Adepoju and the immediate past Board Chairman of CRIN, Alhaji Abdullahi Jao. The occasion attracted traditional rulers among whom were the Community Head of Abanla, Chief Emmanuel Bello Bamgbose and the Regent, Elemiloro of Emiloro, Akure, HRH Oba Enitan Opeyemi Alake Owoduyilemi. The Chairman SSAUTHRIAI CRIN Branch Amb. Prince Abioye was also presented with awards.
